Why I Built This

A medical crisis took alcohol off the table for me permanently. I then spent years in social situations feeling like I didn't belong — not because I wasn't welcome, but because I had no way to unwind with everyone else.

I found kava. It then took a long time to come up with the right formulation, the right dose, the right way to create a real felt experience in a can — something I could depend on and look forward to every time, not another wellness product that makes empty claims it can't keep.

TAVU is the option I needed and couldn't find. If you're tired of having to explain why you're not drinking but can't go back to the Default Choice, then this is for you.

What is kava, exactly?+
Kava is a plant root from the South Pacific that's been used for thousands of years in ceremonies and social gatherings. It produces a noticeable feeling of calm, social ease, and warmth — without impairing your cognition. It's not a stimulant, it's not a sedative, and it's not intoxicating. You feel present and relaxed — like the best version of loosening up, without the downsides.
Will I actually feel something?+
Yes — but give it a real chance. Kava has something called 'reverse tolerance.' Your body gets better at processing kavalactones with each session. Your first can might be subtle. By session two or three, most people feel a clear, noticeable shift. It's a drink that rewards you for coming back.
What does it taste like?+
We launch with two flavors: Unwind in green tea white peach and Unwind in ginger lychee hibiscus. Both are lightly carbonated with real juice. They're designed to taste good enough that you'd choose them on flavor alone — but the kava is the point.
Is it safe?+
Kava has been consumed safely for centuries in Pacific Island cultures. Our formulation uses noble kava root extract at a researched dosage, combined with L-theanine. That said, consult your doctor if you're on medication or have liver concerns. We're transparent about what's in every can.

How is this different from CBD drinks?+
Most CBD drinks promise calm and deliver nothing you can actually feel — that's a bioavailability problem, not a marketing problem. Kava is different: it produces a real, noticeable state change. You feel it within 10-15 minutes. TAVU exists because we wanted something that actually does what it says on the can.
